ok updated version of the bottom stanza bc im an idiot who forgot 2 like. update it. also it is called ravel and i wish i had posted it as a separate poem and i wish it wasnt too late to do that. ALSO WIG I HAD NO CLUE I WROTE THIS 2 YRS AGO TO THE DAY EXACTLY... i kinda want 2 cry now i Remember writing it so vividly. wild.
when you said you write in the mornings i
don't think you meant like this, like me,
like forty minutes past midnight & the
plush skin on your back is the only thing
between the new moon & your spine / don't think
you meant pressing your joints against your closed
mouth as hard as you can & feeling the
bones against your teeth & feeling the skin
against your skin & wanting to bite but not
too hard, like an animal, like you're little
again & it's okay to grow wings with your tongue /
i don't think you meant staying up late to
study the swan curves of your neck & the
strain in your own two tendons instead of
sleeping but / here i am / rolling your words
between my eyelids / rolling your poems
between my hands / & blinking slowly, /
one letter at a time
