There is a ghost doing handstands on my front lawn,
wrist-deep in fresh soil. Her hands are birds
in flight.
It's late, but no one comes to take her home.
The pale moon offers a silver smile -
the clouds disapprove.
Too tired to dream, she buries her legs in sky.
Tonight she is invincible, untouchable,
this frail girl beneath the stars
this death in light.

There is a ghost doing handstands on my front lawn,
falling to her white knees. Her stare is a pane
of glass.
The eyes of the living are often murky but
the eyes of the gone
are windows.

drowning with him
there’s this boy i work with.
he is five.
he wears long sleeves
and shorts with holes in them
that are only kept together with
small clothespins and thin threads.
his hair is always cut close
to his skin, though his bangs are left
just long enough so it covers his eyes
and i know no one can see them.
but i always watch him.
only sometimes i will allow myself
to watch over someone else, even though i know
this boy will only continue to follow me.
he asks me to play,
he asks me to speak,
and sometimes, he even asks me
to hold his hand.
they are always cold and strong,
with calluses and chipped nails
that dig rough into my skin,

letters on leaving.
i wrote my first suicide letter in 10th grade.
they told me it didn't count if you felt like dying
unless you had it down on paper
like a vetoed birth certificate.
i've rewritten it enough times since
to realize i could never leave with a proper goodbye.
goodbye is too heavy a word for paper to hold
and i was never brave enough for the kind of courage it takes to tell them
why.
why they weren't enough to keep me here.
but i'm finally learning a different kind of bravery-
the kind it takes to
stay.
stay.
i learned to wear death
like rope burn my junior year
my senior year we became friends
but i finally stopped cutting the insides of wrist

WOW two poems in two days after such a long semi-hiatus??!?!! IT'S A NEW RECORDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!! 8'DDDDDDD
I have homework to do over the weekend (THANKS chem / algebra / english teachers!! :I) but I HAD to get this down before I got started! (technically i'm not allowed on the computer right now though ooPS) This was inspired by the multitude of poetry-worthy events that occurred today - I, obviously, am the trembling girl... well, maybe not too obviously, but you get the idea! This is another experimental poem and a liiiiittle different than the "genre", if you can call it that, of free verse which I normally write. (I'm a fan of poems where the sentences are really mostly fragments separated by periods, but I can't execute them very well myself QMQ) I scribbled this down, after the event in question occurred, in a very small space in my agenda book, and I didn't edit it at all before publishing it, so let me know what you think about this one!!! 8'D I'm not sure if I love it but I'm pretty proud of myself for feeling confident enough about this to not even look at it afterwards...!
As always thank you so much for the potential support!! And excuse my rant last night for those of you who saw it... I wasn't really in a good place when I logged on last night, but don't worry, things are a lot better now! :'DDDD AND it's the weekend yaaaaayyy!!!!
You can expect more from me more often in the future because my writers block is FINALLY, FINALLY dissolving after many months hunched over the computer in my pajamas doing absolutely NOTHING productive while wasting away those (rare) beautiful sunny days. Now that my mind is working again and I'm out at school seeing the people / doing the things that inspire my writing (although unfortunately a lot less frequently... but things change, and I'll get used to it!) I'm capturing the little things more often, and those little things, although small and rather unnoticable, are the foundation of my poetry and the inspiration behind it. So yay for that!!!!
Love to you all!!! <3333 Have a lovely day!

Ah, such lovely imagery. Something in this made me connect to it. I can't explain the what or how, but it's there in the words that you chose so well for this piece.
